“NOW WHAT…WHAT NOW?”                      Pastor Phil Perkins

Part 1 – Jesus: APP or OS?                        Sunday, April 19, 2020

“For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified” Hebrews 10:14 (NRSV)

“It was a perfect sacrifice by a perfect person to perfect some very imperfect people. By that single offering, he did everything that needed to be done for everyone who takes part in the purifying process” Hebrews 10:14 (MSG)

“Paul said, ‘I am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, and I was brought up and educated here in Jerusalem under Gamaliel. As his student, I was carefully trained in our Jewish laws and customs. I became very zealous to honor God in everything I did, just like all of you today’” Acts 22:3 (NLT)

“‘…Others may brag about themselves, but I have more reason to brag than anyone else. I was circumcised when I was eight days old, and I am from the nation of Israel and the tribe of Benjamin. I am a true Hebrew. As a Pharisee, I strictly obeyed the Law of Moses’” Philippians 3:4b-5 (CEV)

“‘I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made…By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back. So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it’” Philippians 3:11-16 (MSG)

“Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” 2 Timothy 2:15 (AKJV)

  • At every stage of our lives we should be willing to and should be asking, “NOW WHAT…WHAT NOW?”

Salvation is a _________________ matter

“And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead” Romans 4:22-24 (NLT)

The “NOW WHAT…WHAT NOW?” of the beginning of salvation is _______________

  • Jesus will transform your “HOUSE” into a “HOME”
  • Jesus isn’t just another ‘APP’ to add to your life…He’s gotta be the ‘OPEARTING SYSTEM’

Following are some of the important activities that an Operating System performs:

  • Security
  • Control over system performance
  • Job accounting
  • Error detecting aids
  • Coordination between other software and users
